Every year for the past 9 years Ken Swanson of Evergreen, VA (near Appomattox) holds a great music festival. This year he was kind enough to invite me. Here are a few shots from the June, 2009, event
The musicians were locals that played with great heart. You could not get more "down home" than this!

The people who attended the festival came from all around the local towns. Having a semi-long lens helps in these situations. Getting through airport security, that's another story.

The Farewell Drifters are a outstanding alternative Bluegrass band out of Nashville. They were the headliners. In addition to being terrific musicians and singers, they were just nice people to talk to. You can see their site at: www.thefarewelldrifters.com
